Master of Science in Industrial Economics

The Master of Science in Industrial Economics is the oldest academic program in the university. It was developed in 1969 by Dr. Bernardo Villegas and Dr. Jesus Estanislao, shortly after founding the Center for Research and Communication (CRC). The founders had found that typical economics graduates of the time lacked a background in business and management concepts and developed ia training program so their young economist staff could help them provide business economics analysis for corporate clients of CRC. This training program became the Master of Science in Industrial Economics Program. An intensive program of academic and research work, the MSIE equips graduates with the proper mental and intellectual approach, providing a mix of mathematical expertise and a thorough understanding of how the economy and business work. With faculty members holding doctoral and master’s degrees from the best institutions around the world, the students get a truly global education. The students learn from their mentors who have earned their reputation for highly relevant research in the fields of economic forecasting, financial markets, industrial economics, wage determination, and the workings of the economy.
