What is BEC?
The Business Economics Club (BEC) was formerly known as the “Friends of Center for
Research and Communication (CRC)” (est. 1967). The BEC is composed of executives and
Philippine and foreign companies and institutions that subscribe to the research publications,
attend business and economic briefings, and make use of the facilities of the University of
Asia and the Pacific (UA&P).
BEC Open Access Publications
Everyone will have access to high-quality free publications on topics such as business trends, economic insights, and market analysis. These will be available for download on the BEC website.
Recent Economic Indicators (REI) keeps you abreast of the latest macroeconomic trends and issues affecting the nation and your organization. It delivers relevant analysis on emerging developments at the national and global environment (GDP, exchange rates, interest rates, prices, etc) and provides insights on their effects.
Industry Monitor (IM) analyzes industry performance, prospects, and market competition. UA&P economists discuss the latest performance and prospects of selected industries, which serve as guide of topnotch companies and organizations in decision making in various aspects of their operation. As they are made aware of the latest industry trends and prospects, companies are able to explore business opportunities and address future challenges.
Staff Memos (SM) provides an assessment of current business and social issues affecting the provides an assessment of current business and social issues affecting the economy and many industries in the Philippines and all over the world. Policy implications on different sectors are discussed from the perspective of UA&P economists and industry analysts. Executives and managers will find the business issues raised and their corresponding recommendations useful for an informed decision-making of corporate actions and policies.
Urban Markers Adviser (UMA) accompanies you in exploring business potentials in key Philippine cities and emerging growth areas. Executives and managers are provided with useful indicators for analyzing prospects in business development and growth. Companies are also kept abreast with developments in local trade and investments, including public and private high-impact projects.

Held in November each year, the Yearend Business Economics Briefing is the culminating activity of BEC. Economists provide updates of the country’s economic performance for the year and forecasts for the years ahead. A special topic is also highlighted to help businessmen chart their future strategies.

Step 2: Membership Selection: We can offer an organization membership or individual membership.
A. Organization membership: P15,000.00 per year
B. Individual membership: P7,500.00 per year
